Maggie's Farm
_
is a small yet productive CSA using organic
growing methods. We grow a variety of vegetables, fruit, herbs and flowers.
Members are encouraged to suggest anything they would like to grow. Everything
is started in the hoop house from seed and transplanted to the garden as
weather permits.
2012 was a very difficult year. The heat and drought were extreme. I had to water 24/7 at some times. We still had lots of tasty produce all summer, fall and winter. Greens from the hoop house are a treat in the cold weather months. Farm membership has many benefits besides the great food. Get to know the natural world around you: birds, critters, insects, trees, wildflowers and Portage Creek. All varieties of produce and starter plants are for sale at the farm if CSA membership is not something you want to do this year. |
It's the most fun when the kids are helping in the garden. Jack and Moe, pictured here with Kathee are veteran Maggie's Farmers. They help plant, weed and water. And best of all, they make us laugh!
